Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need council approval for a deck or pergola?

Often, yes. It depends on the height, size and how close it sits to the boundary. We'll tell you at the site visit and can organise the private certifier and drawings as part of the job.

Hardwood or composite decking?

Hardwood such as spotted gum looks and feels great but needs oiling every year or so. Composite costs more upfront and needs very little upkeep. We'll quote both if you're unsure.

How long does a deck take to build?

A typical 20 to 30 m² deck takes one to two weeks on site once approvals and timber are sorted. Your quote includes a realistic timeframe.

Do you take on small jobs?

Yes. Sticking doors, a few rotten boards or a new handrail are all fine. We group small jobs by area to keep the cost down.

Are quotes free?

Yes, quotes in our service area are free. You get a written, fixed-price quote, not a rough guess.
